Freckle Partners with AirKast to Further Cement Freckle IoT as Largest Beacon Attribution Company in the World
Deal provides AirKast clients with opportunity to participate in innovative beacon campaigns; extends Freckle’s reach to millions of new handsets
New York – July 14, 2016 – Freckle, the world’s largest beacon-based mobile attribution company, today announced a groundbreaking partnership with AirKast, one of the largest mobile platform companies for publishers and media companies in North America. A cloud-based mobile platform provider supporting iOS, Android and Amazon Kindle, AirKast clients include Cumulus Media, ESPN, Radio One, CBS News Radio and Fox News Radio. AirKast has over 2,000 individual apps that are launched over 20 million times per month. The partnership with Freckle enables AirKast’s clients to participate in pioneering beacon initiatives, which include attribution, analytics, messaging, retargeting and insights.
“We saw the emergence of beacons as a critical advertising and data opportunity that could provide our clients with the chance to participate in beacon campaigns that would expose them to new, unique and verifiable customers,” said Larry Leung, CEO of AirKast. “As Freckle is the leader in the market, we wanted to partner with them to give our clients the greatest reach possible.”
With the Freckle SDK (Software Development Kit) in AirKast’s numerous applications, AirKast’s clients can now benefit from Freckle’s thousands of beacons placed in stores and entertainment venues. These beacons will verify that individuals that have visited specific locations – an attribution tactic not available through location targeting found in real-time buying (RTB) – and retarget them with more contextually relevant advertising. The partnership will leverage AirKast’s highly visible presence throughout North America, which includes strong footprints in major markets across the US.
“We are embarking on the next era of mobile activation – which is true attribution,” said Neil Sweeney, President & CEO of Freckle. “Today every brand spends millions of dollars annually trying to drive people to locations where their products are sold. Until now there has never been a way to determine how effective this advertising has been. Freckle can now do this and provide a true attribution metric to brands so that they are able to spend their advertising dollars more effectively. Bundling the Freckle SDK inside AirKast’s 2,000+ apps means a huge increase in the number of people who can now benefit from our innovative attribution campaigns. We have built the deterministic ID for mobile attribution, trumping the probabilistic ID that is generated from real-time bid stream data that many other location companies are putting forward.”
